Downtown Detroit
Scavenger Hunt

Team building doesn’t get much better than this. Teams of up to 3-4 will be given clues, and they will have 1.5 hours to scour Downtown Detroit to find the answers.

Participants will not only have a great time, but they’ll learn about what Detroit has to offer too.

Whether you have been here your whole life or just arrived, you will discover Detroit like never before.

Downtown Sample Clues:

  1. The Seal of the City of Detroit behind the Spirit of Detroit has two women in classical dress with flames behind them, representing the fire of 1805 that completely destroyed the city.  The city’s motto on the seal translates to “We hope for better things. It will arise from the ashes.”  What is the motto in Latin? (Have your team take a picture recreating the city seal)

  2. Spectacles is an amazing shop owned by Zana Smith that has been in Harmonie Park since 1984! What artist is featured on the calendar by the register?

  3. How many elevators are there in the 100-year-old David Whitney Building?

  4. House of Pure Vin is a wonderful small business and wine shop, and now they also offer wine by the glass as well! There is a wine bottle on its window. What letters are inside the wine bottle?
