Located in Northwest Detroit, Livernois has long been the heart of the apparel industry in Detroit. Retailers, wholesale buyers, designers, stylists, students, shoppers, and residents all converge on this historic avenue to this day. In the last few years, Livernois has seen renewed and innovative efforts to strengthen its businesses, accessibility, and presence as a hub for the surrounding Northwest neighborhoods: Sherwood Forest, University District, Green Acres, Palmer Woods, and Bagley. We will visit shops that are new to the Avenue within the last few years, as well as the older businesses that have been anchors in the community for decades. We will also learn about community efforts in place to make the area a better place to live, work, and shop.
